Koh Samui Island is located in the Gulf of Thailand. The island in the Surat Thani province. Koh Samui is surrounded by other six - interesting and beautiful islands. They are all unique with it pristine beaches. One of my favorite island was Koh Nana Yuan island. It was very beautiful and one of the most unique and pristine with it character I have ever seen and Koh Tao is very well known as well, but the must attraction is the Angthong National Marine Park. It was absolutely beautiful. People travel from all over the world to Koh Samui. It is easy to get here by plan from Bangkok with direct flight in about 45 minutes only.
I made my trip by a short flight from Bangkok to Samui. When I arrived at the airport. I had a car service arraged to pick me up to drop me at the resort. There are many beach front resort all around Koh Samui island. Here tourist love to rent a schooter which was easy to get around the island and convenience. It was fun as well to ride a schooter under the warm weather and get off anywhere you want. I usually love to explore food vendors and fresh market where ever I travel around Thailand. The food are great and cheap but more then that they are daily fresh and no frozen food and with the scooter I could park anywhere which made my transportation around the island was fun and independently.
On Koh Samui island is more like touristic area where I could find bars and restaurants but what I like the most about Koh Samui was Chaweng beach. This birght emeral ocean, white sand and wide beach is about 7 km long in the North East of Koh Samui island. It is the most beautiful beach among any other beaches on the island. I could park my scooter on the street then walk to the beach. There are plenty of space to chose where I seattle and pampering myself. They are also plenty of bars and restaurants along the beach so I picked a spot right by the restaurant where they served drinks and food. I also rent the chair and umbrella there. I got quite a nice spot without many people around. It was quite chill and relaxing while I could enjoy a couple glasse of mojito then jump into the ocean.
There also plenty of restaurants to chose for lunch. I usually eat some seafood around here. They fresh and delicious. I could walk along the beach and look for a place to have my lunch. There are many restaurants along the beach where I could sit on the terrace while I was eating some great seafood and enjoy the ocean view. It was a great day to enjoy the beach, relaxing and eating some great Thai seafood. Here on the beach there are people who sale souvenir like shell neckless, bracelets etc, so you would be able to do some little shopping from local handmade as well.
After along day at the beach then I got ready for a night around walking district. I love walking into shops where they sale art works and gifts. They are local stuff and handmade. I also looking at the front restaurants where they cooked food in the front which made me hungry. On Koh Samui island I could find Thail food, seafood till western food. There are plenty of choices to select whatever I feel like. I have to mention that since there are a lot of tourist ride scooters around the island at night and some drunks people driving on the road at night. There are not so safe to drive scooter at night and some of the main road is quite hilly so it could be very dangerous riding at night. There are car accident all the time around here so if you ever decided to visit and ride scooter around - please make sure dont drive late night while there are many drunk people driving on the road.
After a few day of pampering on Koh Samui Island. I was ready to take off to another island like Koh Phagnan. From Koh Samui to Koh Phangan I could travel by ferry. I love getting on the ferry here. I could sit by the terrace of the ferry where I could enjoy the warm weather and the ocean. This made it pretty adventurous to travel from one island to another. I was really enjoy the fact that I was exploring from one place to antoher where I was always curious and wondering of it natures.

Best Season:
The best time to visit the island is without a doubt from December through June. Coming in the off months means heavy rains and potentially torrential storms. December to February is traditionally the best time to go and weather averages around 86 degrees. March through June remains high-season but temperatures climb regularly to 95 degrees. Plenty of sunshine and very little rain exists during this period. October and November are the rainiest months
