Chiang Mai is one of my favorite place to travel too. It is loacated in the northern part of Thailand.

Here in Chiang Mai is rich of culture and pretty authentic about food culture. It is totally different from the capital city like Bangkok. I was dieing to visit fresh market here. I love the cripsy pork skin and chili paste. it is very famous here and I am pretty sure that most of the people who visit Chiang Mai loves buying these food back to their home town or even for their friends. It is like a eating trip for me. I love all food here and there are also some bizzare food here like steam pork brain wraped in banaleave. There are plenty of funky weird food but taste really good. I love to experiement bizzare food sometimes as well. This is part of the culture of each city which I learn that they can be very different.

Chiang Mai is well known for the beauty of nature and culture. The moment I landed by plan here. I could see mountains. It doesn't seem rush and busy like Bangkok. Chiang Mai is a get away destination for Thai people as well. In Thailand is hot all year round but in Chiang Mai during December through February could be chilly and cold at night. This why people from other cities around Thailand love coming here during a peak season. It is beautiful here because of it's nature like moutains, junkle and waterfalls. I love visiting Chaing Mai whenever I feel like being surrounded by natures, especially big waterfalls. It's important to pick a time to visit Chiang Mai because waterfalls can be dry or too strong so the last time in 2012. I visited Chiang Mai in January which was a great time of the year. It was not too hot and waterfalls was beautiful.

I chose to stay out of Chiang Mai city since I wanted to be close to the nature but it was quite a long distance to the city but it was worth it. I love the hotel resort that I stayed because it is located next to the waterfall and I love the sounds of the waterfall. It was excellented! There are tree everwhere. I love the fresh air all around. It made me happy and joyful with the beauty of nature has to offer. Even where I stayed was far away from the city but it was totally a unique experience but also was convenient because I also could enjoy traditional Chiang Mai food here. They provided Kan Tok dinner style here - Kan Tok is a traditional northern food style. They served with many different dishes in a small portion but served at the same time on the traditional round stand basket. This Kan Tok is finger food. It was absolutely delicous and confort food. Even more then that I could enjoy my wonderful dinner on the terrace right by the waterfall. It was absolutely wonderfaul.

Here in Chiang Mai there are so many great beauty of nature attractions around outside the city and interesting culturals stuff, on this trip I visited to Doi Suthem Temple. This temple is located on top of the hill. It was well docorated and beautiful. I could feel the richness of nothern traditional from every single details. There were school kids who were doing traditional northern Thai dancing and instrument here and were a lot of people who came to this Doi Suthep to pay respect to the monk and buddha. The view from the temple was very beautiful and green below the ground. I love those mountains view and the fresh air from the top of the hill at Doi Suthep. It mades this visit a unique and fun.

From the top of the hill. I walked down the Nagas stairs which you can see from my slide pictures. It was the dragon decorations with hundreds of step from top the the begining. While I was walking down. I runed into village kids. There are many tribe of them here in Chiang Mai. They usually live in the hill but these day some of them come work in the city or around tourist attractions to make some bucks. These kids dress up in their traditional outfits and I took a few pictures with them and give them some money. They were adorable and know how to talk. It was nice to get some fun pictures with these kids. Around here I also found so many souvanier and fresh fruite from local farm like strawberry. There are plenty of vendors food around here which I could grab something to snack on before a long ride back to resort.

One of the most impressive experience on this trip beside culture and beauty of nature. I was blown away with the Tiger Kingdom in Chiang Mai. Here I could get pictures with tigers. They are chain free and there were like five of them in the cage. It was a big cage where I could walk in with the gard. I had to be quiet and stay behind tigers. I could get very close to them and touch them too. This was the first time I touch a big tiger! They were so soft and clean. It was very exciting and adventurous. I just had so much fun and this was the whole new experienced to be so close to an exotic animal instead of looking at them behind the fence like when I was in the zoo.

Another famous activity in Chiang Mai is riding an elephant through the jungle. This was an exotic activity. It was fun riding the elephant while the elephant was crossing the river and walking through the jungle where I enjoyed the weahter and the nature. Here you also can learn how to ride them as well. After riding an elephant I got to transfer to a cow carriage back to the elephant camps. It was adventurous. After back to the camps I watched the elephants show like dacning elephants, Elephant playing football but the most impressive ones was that an elephant was painting. This artist young elephant was so genious and it took an elephant to learn how to pain from four to six months. it was incridible how animal can learn such a thing. I totally love this exotic animal and admiring them so much. This activity was totally made my day.

On this trip I ensured that I got to experiment the Traditional Kan Tok dinner as I mentioned before but I made a special night to Kan Tok dinner in Chian Mai city. It was outdoor. It was totally northern style as I had to sit on the floor and I had fun dressed up like one tribe of village people. I got outfit from local village people who sale them around the elephant camps area. Somehow they dinner was so much fun. There were traditional dancing entertainment show while I was eating my wonderful dinner. It was the best way to end the night.

This trip to Chiang Mai was very adventurous and unique. I got to enjoyed everything is totally difference from any other destinations. I love the nautre, culture, food and animal. These were whorth while and priceless. I was very impressed with everything. This is definitely a great memorable trip for me.

Best Season:

It stands to reason that the best time to visit Chiang Mai is definitely during their cool season, started from middle November to February. You can choose to visit Chiang Mai during the months of D when the weather is at its driest and there is plenty of sunshine. If you are looking for more sun, you should consider a visit to Chiang Mai in April, the hottest month. However, for many, the high temperatures during April can be a little hot, as they can reach up to 40°C. The maximum temperatures during the hot season can be way hot during the day.
