My first trip to China that I have been dreaming for a long time but there were so many reason that have taking me so long to make dicision because it is not my first top five on my bucket list, but since I have to go back to visit my parents in Bangkok Thailand so I made a decision to fly my parents to China for vacation and it is much closer to travel from Thailand to China, instead of planing to fly from USA. I have always dream about visiting Lijiang for many years, the world heritage UNESCO town, but there was no direct flight from Bangkok to Lijiang so I had to stop over in Kunming for one night. I was planing to visit Forest stone but with bad traffic here I had to change my plan. I will share you some of the difficulty of my traveling here in Kunming. I arrived at the airport and I took a taxi but believed me nobody speak English here, not even information service at the airport so I found my way to get on the cab but language barrier was a huge problem. I show the cab driver of my hotel address. We negotiated on the price so he droved me somewhere and when we arrived at the hotel just from outside I could tell right away it's not the same hotel I suppose to go to so I told him its not here and he wants to leave me there at this hotel where it was not belong to my booking. I was really pissed off and he could not communicate with me. If you wonder why I don't get on another cab because Kunming is a big city and I had no idea where he droped me so I argue with him and I made him get on the phone call of my hotel. He was asking for more money because it was really far away from where we were at that moment. I looked around and there was not a single cab around there so I argue with him and gave him more but not as much as he asked. I spent three hours on the cab. The traffic in Kunming was horrible and I did not like this city already. The air was very dirty. There were a lot of constrction and dust is in the air which I could see by eyes.

 Finally I arrived at the hotel and I could finally rest. I was so starving but luckily there was a great restaurant next to the hotel and to be honest with you it was the best food I had on this trip to China. I was planing to visit Forest Stone but after all that bad traffic I decided not too because I was afraid to stuck on the traffic for hours. I asked the hotel concierge about getting around. They told me most of the places are far from each others. I was not impress about it and even the cab driver that hotel booked for me could not speak English. It was unpleasant and this was actually the first trip in my life that I was not happy. However this is just the stop over for a night. I did not want to wasted my time so at least I booked a cab driver for the whole evening to take me around, again I just want to go around the center of the city but it tooke me another hour and a half because of the horrible traffic. At least I got to see Kunming and tried some vendor food but it was just ok because after all that lack of communication and bad traffic. I did not feel like I like Kunming anymore even though I had more days to stay in Kunming. It woud not be fun to pay insane price for cab and stuck on the car from on place to anothers. This was just exhausting and I was just looking forward to visit Kunming. However this was only on one night in Kunming. The best part of my trip here was my first meal and to be able to walk around. If you wish to visit Kunming you should be aware of traffic. If you do not mind with rude manner, traffic and spit than it should be ok but I am sure you are not up for that for your vacation! so good luck if you visit Kunming. I was just glade that I was there for a night only but I was happy to visit Lijiang because I have always dream to visit this place so please check out my itinerary in Lijiang China
