Arriving into Hong Kong the easiest way to get to Hong Kong Island is by taking the Airport Express train which will get you into Central from the airport in 24 minutes. From the train station in Central it is an easy subway ride or taxi ride to my hotel of choice, the Island Shangri-La. The Island Shangri-La is right next door to another great hotel in Hong Kong, the Conrad, and sits above one of my favorite shopping malls, Pacific Place. This hotel is a true gem of Asia, from the luxurious guestrooms, the numerous high-end restaurants and bars and exceptional service, the Shangri-La is my top hotel choice in Hong Kong.
After refreshing myself from my flight I will make a trip out for some great local cuisine. One of my favorites for the best roast goose in Hong Kong is Yat Lok. Timing is everything at Yat Lok, be prepared to wait if you go around lunchtime as the crowds surge into the area around from noon until 1:30PM as the local office workers pack themselves into the many area restaurants like Yat Lok. An early or a late lunch (as long as they still have some goose to serve) is recommended. The goose here is succulent. The roast goose is perfectly seasoned, juicy and has that fatty flavor that will put a smile on your face. After lunch at Yat Lok I will walk around the area and make my way to Hollywood Road for some antique shopping ending with a visit to the Man Mo Temple on Hollywood Road. This temple is a must see sight in Hong Kong. Located in between apartment buildings you will find the temple with its iconic spiraled cones of incense and ornate decoration.
After freshening up at the hotel I like to make my way across the harbor to Kowloon for a cocktail and dinner. The harborside of Kowloon has some great hotels and restaurants and I typically frequent the Peninsula Hotel and One Peking Road for some great dining and nightlife. Felix, located at the top of the Peninsula Hotel has a great bar and is a wonderful place to enjoy an exquisite cocktail while enjoying the full view of the Hong Kong skyline at night from the enormous windows overlooking the harbor. After a drink at Felix I love to walk over to One Peking Road to have dinner at Hutong. Hutong, in addition to being ranked as one of the top Chinese restaurants in the world, is also located near the top of the building with amazing views. Hutong offers a modern take on traditional Cantonese cuisine and is not to be missed.
Depending on what time I finish dinner, I like to head to the night markets in Kowloon for some late night shopping and snacking. Great markets to visit in Kowloon are Ladies Market and the Temple Street Night Market. Both markets have a great variety of local dining, street food and unique shops where you can find that perfect souvenir or gift for a friend back home.
The hardest part about being in Hong Kong is deciding what to do the next day. My favorite side trips are visiting the beaches of Lantau Island which can be accessed by train and then boat – around 2 hours from Central Hong Kong; shopping and dining on the other side of Hong Kong Island in the Stanley area; and a day trip to Macau, about an hour by high speed ferry, to enjoy local Macanese food, tour the cultural sites and of course visit the booming casino areas.
Hong Kong is one of the regiong of the people's republic of China. This city is one of the center business in Asia. It is the city of skycrapers, old culture mixed with modern life style. Hong Kong is known for its expansive skyline and deep natural harbour. There are about seven million people. You would be surprised to see how tiny and small apartment for one person to fit in or either the fancy ones for rich people. This city is always busy and people from all over Asia travel to Hong Kong for shopping and food.
For me traveling to Hong Kong is about shopping and eating. Hong Kong is well known as a shopping destination and there are so many great food all around the city. People takes food siriously here. Here in Hong Kong, there are two parts of the city which are Hong Kong and Kowloon. When I visited Hong Kong. I chosed to stay on Kowloon side. I stayed at Kowloon hotel. It is nice and hospitality service were great. The location was fantastic since It was located near harbor plaza , MTR Tim Sha Tsui station which made it easy get around for shopping.
In Hong Kong is conveniant to get around and bargaining for products. Here it is easy to commuicate in English. There will be no problem, Hong Kong is a great place for shopping because Hong Kong has no sale tax, great prices, great service, but more then shopping for designer brands or regular stores all around the city. I also love shopping at the night market where I could find some great stuff as well. One of my favorite place was Ladies' market. It was so much fun to walk around. There are so much anergy of people, selling products, tourist and people were everywhere. I enjoyed walking around and looking for stuff, some stuff can be very interesting compare to the store in the USA, even though I love designer brands but at the night market like this. I found some great product like make up case. There are so many sizes from regular small size to the big one like carry one suitcase size. What I love the most was about the price. It was great and I found a lot of nice stuff. That made my shopping in the night market quite excitement and the anergy of people made this market a fun place.
All around this night market. I always bump into food boots. The boot of seafood skewers were attracted me to taste some. I love the variety of seafood. They are fresh and fun to eat as I could pick the different type of seafood. They are fresh and fresh cook which made my appetize increse and I just felt like I had such a fun times shopping around the market then grab on some food to snack on around the street. This was such a fun and quality travel for a big city. It was wonderful to be able to walk around and checking out the varity of products then try out some delicious food and are not so expensive at all. Which made my trip here for shopping and eat became muc more fun.
One of the most interesting attraction in Hong Kong that seems to be the most unique thing is the Symphony of lights by riverside of Victoria harbour. This symphony of lights have more then 40 buildings involves on both sides of the harbour. It is the world's largest permanent light and sound show by Guinness World Records, coloured lights, laser beams and searchlights performent. The show is daily performing every monday, wednesdat and friday night. I was so impressive with its show. This was really the best light show in the world. It's even make me think twice that Hong Kong is such a modern city and things are moving fast forward in Asia continental. This Symphony of lights are bringing in tourist from all over the places, especially all around in Asia to travel to Hong Kong to see this brilliant - high technology of laser lights.

Best Season:
October, November and most of December are the best months to visit. Temperatures are moderate, the skies are clear and the sun shines. January and February are cloudy and cold but dry. It’s warmer from March to May, but the humidity is high, and the fog and drizzle can make getting around difficult. The sweltering heat and humidity from June to August can make sightseeing a sweaty proposition, and it is also the rainy season. September is a grand month if you like drama; the threat of a typhoon seems to loom every other day.
